So I live in a small town in north New Jersey (Woodcliff Lake) and theres a band playing in Brooklyn I want to see. Normally this would be no problem, have a friend with a car, drive in, drive out. But by some twist of fate they're all busy or hate the band or wrapped their Camry's around telephone poles. So here's the question: If I want to be getting off the Myrtle Ave. stop of the JMZ line in brooklyn at 9, what do I need to do?
After the show, how the hell do I get back home if it lets out at... one-ish?
Finally, if there's any really helpful person out there, is there some kind of "plan my transit for me" website? Google Maps is great for directions and all but that needs me a car.What is the best way to get in to and out of New York City on a Friday night?
Try the NYC transit authority website. This covers all METRO areas, including NJ- I have used it with success in the past-

I say try NJ Transit they have an Itinerary planner. The transit system here runs 24/7 so your biggest problem is going to be on the Jersey side since that stuff shuts down.
FYI you can also take the L train to that same Myrtle Avenue stop, which would be better for you because, you can catch the Path train on 14th street without ever changing trains.What is the best way to get in to and out of New York City on a Friday night?
Why don't u stay at a friend's house (if u have any) living in NYC. Trains are great, but dangerous at night time. But then again, why don't you rent a car for the evening. That's gonna be a tall order though. It could take you all night to get home.
The trip there will take about 3:20. The schedule I set for you includes enough time to grab a quick dinner in the city. If you'd like, you can get out at Canal Street, walk to Mott Street and go to the other end of the street. At either 15 or 17 Mott you'll see Wo Hop. Make sure you go to the downstairs one, as the one at street level is terrible. They are unrelated, inspite of being in the same building and having the same name.

Try to get over to Journal Square down in Jersey City or to Hoboken and take the path into town and back after the concert. Or take the bus to port authority from woodcliff and then try the path to get home. (the bus doesn't run all nght) best thing is to figure on sleeping somewhere in the city and get home in the morning (if you're old enough and your parents won't freak out)

Subway to brooklyn.....?
I have been asking a lot of questions about the subway, but i just want to be sure! =]
so as retarded as these questions may sound, I just have to know!
Does the NYC subway take you to Brooklyn? And is the subway in Brooklyn that same as the NYC subway?
the reason I am asking is there is a particular place I want to visit in Brooklyn. When i was on Google Maps I got the directions from a station closest to my hotel in Midtown and got the Directions to get to this place. I have to get on a subway that takes me into Brooklyn, and then switch to another subway in Brooklyn. Will my weekly metrocard cover that? Or will it be a serperate charge since it isn't exactly in NYC?

You can certainly take the subway to most parts of Brooklyn, and it is the same subway system. Not all lines go to Brooklyn, but many do.
You're metrocard is good anywhere in the system, and it costs the same no matter where you go in the subway system.
You should know two imporant things, however.
1) Brooklyn is a part of NYC. NYC is divided up into 5 boroughs - those are five political divisions of NYC. Manhattan is the one in the middle, and many people think it is the whole of NYC, but that is incorrect. The other boroughs are also part of NYC.
2) Brooklyn is BIG! It is far bigger than Manhattan. Brooklyn is also bigger than most major cities in the U.S. - Brooklyn is bigger than San Francisco, Washington D.C., Boston.... In other words, Brooklyn all by itself is the size of a major city.
If you are planning to go to Brooklyn, you'd better figure out where in Brooklyn you are going.

How much is the I-290 W Exit 7 toll in Mass?
I'm planning a trip to NYC (driving from Durham, NH) and Google maps is telling me on I-290 W toward Worcester to take Exit 7 for I-90/Mass Pike (partial TOLL ROAD)...but I can't find the cost of this toll.
The next direction is to Follow signs for I-90 W/Springfield/Albany and merge onto I-90 W (TOLL ROAD)
then Take Exit 9 and merge onto I-84 W toward US-20/Hartford/New York City (partial TOLL ROAD) after which I will take exit 20 toward I-684
The MassDOT Highway toll web page told me my Mass Turnpike toll costs will be $1.10 (using exit 8 toward I-84) but I'm sure that doesn't cover all three of those toll roads mentioned above. Can someone help me figure out how much these tolls are going to cost me in a regular 2 axle car?How much is the I-290 W Exit 7 toll in Mass?

You go through a toll booth when you get on I-90 from I-290 and either pick up a ticket or use your EZ-Pass. And you go through another toll booth when you get off I-90 and onto I-84, and if you have an EZ-Pass, it'll charge that. If you have a ticket, give it to the person in the booth and they'll tell you how much you owe, based on how far you traveled.

Is it wise to commute from eastern Baltimore County to the University of Maryland at College Park every day?
I'm finishing my AA at CCBC this spring, and am transferring into the journalism program at UMCP in the fall. I haven't been able to save money for school, but handling tuition should be easier through benefits from a parent's employer. I'm deliberating driving there to class, which Google Maps pegs as a drive lasting a little over an hour. I've had several different individuals relate that the commute would be no sweat and take perhaps at most 45 minutes in each direction, with others seeming to dismiss the notion as entirely unfeasible due to traffic. I'd be living at home if so, with my only concerns being the lack of a private workspace and distance from events and points of interest I may have to attend in higher level courses - for example, I know one higher 400 level course requires students to access the National Archives in nearby D.C. Is regularly making, say, a 9:30 class on a weekday feasible if one were to leave at 8:00 am?Is it wise to commute from eastern Baltimore County to the University of Maryland at College Park every day?

Okay, I'll just make this question as short as possible. My dad is a bit.. psycho, I guess. I'm 15 and he sometimes gets very aggressive and threatens to kill me or hits me or shakes me etc.
But tonight was more of a mental/emotional abuse.
I play guitar and sing and write songs - very well, according to most people. But I suffer from Social Anxiety Disorder, and therefore I do not like playing very often for people, it's more stressful than it's worth. Tonight he searched google with all the names he could think of which corresponded with me and found my youtube account with some covers, but they were private, so he started shouting at me to show them to him and his friend. I refused and he started kind of blackmailing me and saying that if I didn't show them, that he would search over the whole internet and find everything I've EVER typed onto the internet. The thing is, I was molested for several years of my life as a child by a neighbour and only told my parents when I was 13, I suffered from depression and was suicidal at times and Y!A has been a place for me to turn to in times of need. But he has found my account and tomorrow I'm scared that he'll search through all of my questions (some regarding him and his abuse), so I need to ensure that all my questions are deleted off the face of the internet. WILL DELETING MY ACCOUNT ERASE ALL MY QUESTIONS FROM GOOGLE?
If not, how can I do it?
I'm so scared, I don't want him to find this and he's already found the link to one question even though I've made my profile private and if he reads it he'll find out things I don't want him to know =(
I'm a good kid, I haven't done anything wrong, but I've asked some embarrassing questions on here that I'd rather he didn't know. A parent and a child have to have some space! He can't know everything! I've been very good my whole life and I feel like he's driving me in the opposite direction, I feel like just becoming the complete opposite and doing tons of bad things and just forget the old me, forget everything. Hi, I dont think you can delete a Y!A acct. I think you should tell someone that you are close to and if you have no body you are close to..tell a councellor at school or the police. Tell somebody. Your parents arent supossed to treat you like that. I will be praying for you and your family. Hope this helps.
