The SSA and the IRS apparently have offices in the same building. They're not the same organization, though.

Call the IRS Brooklyn at (718) 488-2068 and ask them how to find their offices once you get to the building.
SSA is the social security adminstration. The IRS is different, but both of them are working together. To get your Transcript, you either go to the office close to your city as per the following (IRS) instruction as per the provided map:

http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/index.h鈥?/a> they may give it to you on the spot

Or you may call IRS where they will send it to you by mail after few weeks.

They are not the same. The IRS uses the SSA database to check to the social security numbers and dates of birth. He should contact the IRS for a transcript. Or save the gas/subway money and order them online. They will come in a week. https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof-tra/start鈥?/a>Are ssa and irs all the same?
of course not

the IRS is the Internal Revenue Service

the SSA is the Social Security Adminstration
