Should i drive to wales?

I have 5days off work starting Friday, was thinking of driving to south Wales where my dad lives, never driven on a motorway and not had any time to prep due to work, don't have sat nav, have directions off Google, is this good idea for 1st time motorway driving?Should i drive to wales?
you don't say where you're driving from. It could be cheaper and faster to get the train.

If you do drive, don't worry about not having sat nav - most people don't and it's a big distraction as far as I can see. Just make sure you study the road atlas thoroughly before you set off.

Another thing to bear in mind is that Friday can be a busy day on the motorways as everyone seems to leave early to get away for the weekend - if you're a bit nervous of driving, maybe choose another, less busy time to try out the motorways.
alot of where I've driven in wales isn't on my satnav or it sends me to fords and dead ends...

so I wouldn't really trust satnavs unless near big towns and cities, so you should be alright with a map or just directions

the motorway is the easy part in my experience its just once you're on country roads...

good luck :)Should i drive to wales?
Depends where you're driving from but it'd be either M4 if you're coming from the South East, or M5 if you're coming from North and South West. All very easy motorways coming into Wales. Not really busy and very well sign posted. Where in South Wales do you need to get to? Don't forget, if you are coming over the Severn bridge, you need 拢5.50 for the toll. (you don't pay going back to England)Should i drive to wales?
Whereabouts are you driving from?

I wouldn't worry about the Sat Nav, most people have gotten away without using one for all these years, myself included. You shouldn't have a problem without one.
