How often do people from Washington, D.C. visit Toronto?

We can all agree that Toronto is Canada's centre (center if you're an American) for culture, commerce, and communications. 1,000 Places To See Before You Die describes Toronto as Canada's answer to New York City.

I do see all different results when I search "Washington to Toronto" via Google, about 110 million, and I do find books about travelling to Toronto from all the different metro area public libraries (e.g. Fairfax County Public Library) from all different notable travel guide series (e.g. Frommer's, Fodor's), so that's a step in the right direction.

Toronto is approximately a 9.5-10 hour drive by highway from DC, and since DC has the headquarters of Amtrak in Union Station, train service is abundant. Even though you have to connect to the Maple Leaf train at New York Pennsylvania Station, I believe it's an excellent, worthwhile, and comfortable alternative to driving, and that's not a significant inconvenience either.

I just provided you with examples of information to compel you to help me with your best effort. I will appreciate detailed answers (when I say detailed answers, I mean all relevant information which can potentially help me). Also, please reliably provide the location of where you obtained the information from when answering this question. Thank you.

The reason that most Americans don't visit Canada is that it's ridiculously expensive. Then add to that insult an insane 13% sales tax. There are so many places here in our own country, Mexico, and the Caribbean that you can get to just as easily and have a quality vacation and don't feel like you've been run over the coals for every last dollar when you return. How often do people from Washington, D.C. visit Toronto?
